You would have noticed that there are two major problems with this design of channel.

1. The maximum height is only 8 cm from channel elevation. This raises the factor of safety concerns and it is suggested to increase this distance so that channel top is at least 15cm from maximum water level.
2. Except for constricted section, water depth is much below the top of the channel. This may indicate the unnecessary cost of digging in this area.

Use HEC-RAS to work out different options and propose (in the comments below) suitable suggestions to solve both these point.
